I put a Crower cam in my 4.6 way back in '19 that I'm happy with. I don't remember the the name of the business, but I called "the guy" somewhere in Michigan and he got me sorted out.
'04 D2 4.6
I've never had an issue with the starter until yesterday.
I get a rapid fire burst of clicks from the solenoid, then some intermittent clicking until I release the key.
thoughts?
Asking $7500 obo. Currently located in Springville, UT. I'm planning going to eastern Canada soon so I might be able to meet somewhere along the way.
Good:
~5k miles on rebuilt engine (thanks for the help Dweb) and LOTS of other new parts (I can make a complete list if requested).

Neither will the torque converter.
It was spinning just fine when we were mating the block to the bell housing.
With the block mated to the bell housing and on its mounts, I tried to spin the torque converter and crank to line up the holes on the flex plate but can't get either to budge.

I've pulled the first four cam bearings out. But I don't see a way to get to the one in the back. It feels like there's only about 1/4" of space behind it, so nowhere for it to go if I hammered it through.
I'm tempted to leave it in there but the upper 2/3 of the bearing feels a bit rough...
So my 04 D2 is just shy of 140k miles. I got the cam out last night and it looks like I'll be changing it and therefore might as well upgrade. I don't really care about noise and a smooth idle, reliability and a little more power are what I'm looking for.
1) I've seen a lot of posts saying the...
it's an 04 with SAI
I think you're right, but I don't know what the SAI does, much less if it can throw the codes I'm getting.
I did plug it it and take it for a spin. This time it almost immediately threw p0150 and p0130 (iirc), both of the upstream o2s. Before this, I'd have to drive 20-50...
Im getting codes p0150 p0174 p1174, which seems to indicate a problem with that o2 sensor or a vacuum leak somewhere on the intake system.
it looks like the hose and grommet (blue) are supposed to be connected to the fitting (red) but the grommet seems really loose on the (red) fitting.
in the process of changing the crank sensor on an 04 DII, it feels like i managed to pull one of the wires off of the connector to the wiring harness. Assuming that was my fault and no the problem to begin with.
I can only feel two wires coming off the connector with what feels like a stray...
So I got one of those terrafirma bumpers to put on my 04 DII, but i don't have any of the factory mounting hardware. Just frame rails.
can anyone tell me the size of the factory mounting bolts?
i need the ones seen here: https://youtu.be/afpYU8VCesg?t=6m51s
I have an 04 DII with no front bumper. I just want something with recovery points and I'd rather not relocate the washer bottle.
So far the cheapest thing I can find is this:

I recently picked up a DII that's rolling on 19" LR3 wheels. I've found a cheap set of steel bimmer wheels and was wondering if anyone else has tried them.
I tried greasing the tracks and hosing the "lifing mechanism" down with WD40 to no avail. Then I did some searching and tried the allen key but that didn't work either. they're both stuck in the upright position and slide back and forth. but they don't go anywhere when they get to the front...
