    thanks for the info buddy, i was working off a false memory and put what i believe was a set of OME mediums on the rear last week and was disappointed by the lack of lift they gave, guess i will toss them up front and see what i get there... the truck i am lifting is a 99 D1. i have a 95 D1...

    so, rear springs are longer/higher rate?? I thought it was the other way around... the sliders are off a D1, used and scraped up, but straight. the bolt heads need to be ground off too, someone tack welded them, and the frame was so rusty it was easier cutting the bolts.

    with the 32" tires your low range really isn't that low.. but $3250?? wow, bummer.. but that looks like a separate unit? why couldn't just the lt230 low gear cogs be swapped out? it just seems the hi-lo ratios are too close, and i would think two small gears would be cheaper to swap than a...

    probably a stupid question... but, why isn't there a gearbox shop that could turn the low range on a lt230 into the equivalent of 4:11? would it be more expensive? not mechanically possible? just wondering...

    so... i am going to have to spend 100 bucks on a key to find out that the sleeve is loose and the trans is bad?? bummer... it is just a rusty parts truck there has to be another option... i have heard people talk of push button starters?

    i was just given a rusty 96 d1 i was told it ran before it was parked but i would like to verify the engine/trans before i decide what to do with it. what is the best way to hear it run?? buy a key? (how much?) knock out the ignition? hot wire??

    mach for ome 764 rear?

    could any one tell me what the proper front spring would be if i am running 764s in the rear? the p.o. had 2 764s on the dr, side and 2 762s on the pass. side? maybe they never noticed the little tags? or is there a reason to run them this way?
