00' Disco or 04' Disco

Which year is Better? Looking at buying an 04' relatively inexpensive or an 00' for about double the price but not much more. The 04' has possible head gasket leak but hasnt over heated and the 3 amigos and superlocked with 194k miles and the 00' supposedly has no issues with only 102k miles.

Thoughts?? Should i buy both and use one for parts?

The '04 D2 normally have better gas mileage (that is after you fix all this particular ones maintenance issues) but IMHO I'd go for the '00 with the low miles.

Why would you buy a vehicle that doesn't run and has all kinds of issues vs one that is good to go?

Well i got the 04' for $650 it was this vs $2700 for the 00'..... 04 came down in price and i know what im getting myself into. (Sort of) Other guy could just be full of it. I figure that much money its possibly worth the crap shoot. Plus it was in better shape cosmetically so if anything a cheap parts car.

So you’re thinking the difference of $2,050 between the 2 is going to cover the cost getting the ‘04 going again?

Not sure that is feasible yet good luck with it.

We will see! Hope it isn’t much, doing the work myself will help. Maybe not...
