01 DII warning Light question

I just got a 01DII and it appears previous owners at some point somehow disabled the warning lights for the ABS/traction/brake/hd That's one way to avoid the three amigos. My SES is working and not on. No codes other than p0332 which is the knock sensor. Not triggering the SES so I just cleared it.

Any ideas where I should start to look to re-attach theses lights? Probably shouldn't bother but I would rather everything work.

Cheers

If you're lucky, someone just put tape over the lights, so easy to remove. Worse is if they stabbed out the LEDs (I think LED anyway). If they are damaged, it'll be surface mount parts, so need to be re-soldered (not a big problem, but need the right tool).

If the LED is damaged, I can help you change it - I have a hot air station for SMT solder, and the part should be easy to get. (and I sympathize - the dirtbag I bought my D2 from had a bunch of lights covered up...)

Might be easier to replace the cluster if the LEDs are damaged. They are pretty cheap. You then have to worry about getting it programmed, but it will mostly work plug and play. You will have an issue with the odometer blinking and your might have an issue if you have ace and the new cluster wasn't programmed for it.

I think the u-pull it yard near me has a D2 with the cluster and all of the computers for $10 each. I think next time I go out there I might pick them up.

Let me know I may have to do that. I took the back of the cluster off and can't even see the lcds. How do you access them. All I see is a computer board an no clear way to remove it.
Thank you

The LEDs will be visible on the front side of the circuit board (rectangular plastic pieces about 2mmx1mm with a clear top). I think if you pry the black plastic off the front of the cluster, you'll see the wells where the LEDs sit. Can you post an image of the circuit board (gauge side)
