01 Disco - won't take fuel in tank?

So in researching the issue with getting fuel into the fuel tank - I have tried just about everything suggested without any real result and the issue is getting worse.

I saw there was a regulator or flow valve but seems like it is a discontinued part and some say that does not solve the issue completely. AB does not have and they do not know when they are getting any.

Is there a fix for this - expensive or not that someone has gotten resolved once and for all?

None of the hoses look pinched as far as I can see - what about removing the valve all together?

Seems as though worse in the summer - I can get about 10 gallons in and that is all.

Anyone?

I had a similar problem with a '98 Subaru I once owned. It turned out to be a problem with the fuel filler tube being rotted off. For whatever reason it only caused problems with filling the tank during the summer...it also caused and intermittent check engine light. (Which indicated that the fuel regulator valve was bad. As replacing this would have meant dropping the whole fuel tank, I wasn't too interested in getting to the valve.)

I'd go though the whole system again and look for leaks. Try smoke testing it.

you most likely have a plugged up vent valve, sometimes helps to blow a little air through the vent tubes. Often the valve gets plugged from the charcoal canister particles coming apart, usually a result of overfilling the tank.

Where is the vent valve? In line with the hose? I just see hoses and no valve or check valve.

Including pouring a few ounces of injector cleaner in two little vent holes and letting it sit until your next fill, or at least overnight?

If you don't have a smoke tester handy you can always just pressurize the system. It might take a while if you use your little bike pump but with a decent compressor you could fill the system to 5-10 psi and spray all the lines down with soapy water. Wait for the bubbles to show up.

Also I've noticed this a couple times on my 03. At first I wasn't sure if it was just a stupid pump but after it happened the second and third time I figured it was the truck. It will take 20 minutes to fill the tank. Constantly shutting off and you just have to stand there and slowly fill it. The couple times it happened it was a hot day.

This has happened to my 2000 D2 a few times, and every time the problem was (unless it was a coincidence) low battery voltage. Doesn't really seem to make sense, but a new set of brushes (with the regulator assembly) fixed it each time. Fixed the two green flashing transmission lights, too.
