02' P38 Loud Pop under load

Just started yesterday...

When stopped and starting to move forward under load, on a hill, etc. I hear a loud pop, pop, pop when accelerating.

My best guess is the transfer case/viscous coupler...?

I also have my traction overheat light coming on, but don't know if it's related...

Any advice on how long till complete implosion? I have to drive back to GA from PA on Sat. This all happened about 450mi from home...
