$325?!?!?! I just paid $75 for the shifter and an other $75 for the cable at my dealer (well, that price was dealer cost...Im not sure what the consumer price is)

BTW, I just picked up my t-case...came out of an '04. Perfect shape, it was mis-diagnosed at the dealer and they needed to get rid of it. Needless to say I got a really good deal......free. woooooohoooooo!

Great deal. I though $325 was good at frist compared to expedition exchange that wanted $700  In the end I will probably just go with the D1 linkage. When I had my D1, I had no problems with that setup, and I assume it will perform the same in a D2.

Way Cool!

Brandon,

That is a sweet deal. Would you mind doing me / us a favor and listing component parts and/or if you get the chance taking some pics of those t-case components plus any of the rest of your conversion?

Also, is your dealer going to do the work and at what cost?

Admittedly, I'm a bit envious now... I'm getting zip on t-case components for an 04 without buying the whole transmission. And I have not heard back from m dealer as to what their approach will be if all parts come from them.

I'm biting at the bit to get this done and am happy you have your parts lined up!!

Have a great Thanksgiving Holiday!

I'll be doing the whole install myself, so I'll be sure to take pictures and a list of things I ended up getting. Hopefully the dealer ordered the correct parts when I told them I needed a T-case shifter assembly for an '04 and the cable. Knowing what you guys paid for it(compared to what I paid for it) makes me question if they ordered the right stuff.

Does anybody have part #'s for the '04 shifter assmeby/cable?

call rover land parts. get a d1 shifter. 150 bucks. the d1/04 shifter are the same and do not use the cable. how much did you pay?

Thats for a DI shifter though, Im going to be using a DII shifter from a '04 wich requires me to use the cable. Its a much smoother operating shifter. The T-case I picked up is also out of an 04 wich has the cable, however the cable I have is split wich is why I ordered a new one.

To be honest, if you are going to do the install yourself, the cheapest brand new self contained "kit" for the 04 cable linkage I personally found was from 4x4ag, and I think it was 525.00 (dont quote me). They were a few weeks out, though. They have the same kit as EE. Inland Rovers was cheaper than EE, but I will leave the price checking to you there.

I got mine back yesterday...man that 04 cable is smooth :D

04' Cable Assembly with Parts #..Courtesy of 4x4ag.com

Full credits to Adrian from 4x4ag for these pics... had to shrink 'em a bit to meet upload criteria.

The pics have the part numbers for everything but the t-case assembly...

Brandon, I'm anxiously watching for your developments, observations, pics, and comments for this install...
Yours will hopefully be the first documented install of an 04 conversion with t-case assembly in an 03.

I'm still waiting for updates from my dealer, several independent parts sources and retailers about getting the necessary parts for the 04 kit to put in my 03. Funny thing really, everyone has been nice and helpful directing me to the "04 CDL Kit" which is the shifter and cable as in the pics... However, when I mention that I need the WHOLE kit with t-case components/ gears... I usually get a pause and an I'll get back to ya'.
I'm not used to working so hard to spend the money =

Well... that's kind of not true... I've been researching multiple upgrades and parts for various projects since buying this 03DIISE7 last January.... If it's fun, does that count as work?

I recently picked up the 04 shifter assembly off ebay for a 00 model. It is missing the mounting bracket that mounts the cable housing to the transfer case and the linkage that mounts the cable to the nipple, including clevis pins. It looks like the transfer case bracket is available at the dealer. The nipple linkage is another story. Anyone have one those or any idea whare to get one. Good luck on your conversion. As soon as I aquisition those parts I will start mine.

POOP!

Are you the SOB that got that guy selling the 04 linkage to end the auction early? :p

I was watching one, lying in wait to snipe it, then BAM! She was gone like a cheap whore at 6am.

If so, it looks to be that you got a good deal.

Nah, the auction took it's course to the end. I was kinda hopin' someone would of outbid me (I was only bidder) because the dealership quoted me a serious lowball (by accident I'm sure) on a complete '04 linkage with brackets. I wanted to buy it right then and there but was already committed in the bidding. Now I'm looking for parts to finish it up. If I can get the dealer to honor their initial quote, zI may let this go for what I got in it. Interested?

Cool thanks for the pictures! It seems as if I may be installing the transfercase sooner than expected....and building the rest of the rover too. Long story, but I may end up moving to Vergnia so Im taking a X-mas vaction over there for a month I want to build the Rover and drive it over there to do some wheel'n while Im at it. (I have to have good 4wheel'n where I live or I wont move over there!)

My 33x10.50-15 BFG M/T's just came in, I still cant decide on what wheels I want....defenetly aluminum though, and hopefully I'll order up my R.T. 3" springs next week.
