I have searched here on the disco board, but only found a couple of things with knock. 03 Disco with 54K miles. I just started getting this knocking noise under the vehicle, happens when in neutral, drive and reverese. Does not speed up when revving engine, but goes away. I got under car thinking it was a loose heat sheild or something, since it sounded like it was coming from the middle of the car. It's not coming froming the cats, heatshields are foil type materials, so can't be that. it seems to be coming from near torque converter housing, maybe by the oil pan. Will get a steth tomorrow to see if I can narrow it down more. I know it is almost impossible to diagnose a noise over the internet, but thought someone else on here might have an idea.
