so can i get someone to fill me in a bit. i guess i have the front dif failure? no drive and grinding. common practice on these rangies i guess. however can i just replace this coupling http://www.britishparts.co.uk/.sc/ms/bdd/ee/3529/DIFFERENTIAL COUPLING SHAFT or does the diff need replacing? when they say fron dif are they meaning in the front of the TC like that of a viscious unit or actually up front. cause im pretty sure the sound is coming from the transfer box... also this can be done DIY ?

Check with your local dealer, there is a brand new Service Action bulletin # Q041 for 03-05 MKIII front differential failure. Replacement diff parts and labor should be paid for by LR, whether you are still under factory warranty or not. Several owners have also reported receiving a $150 gift card along with the repair.
