I bet you could source a motor somewhere in Washington for $1500. Install yourself your golden. Have to pay a repair shop to install it then you minds will go buy a good runner somewhere else.

Just buy it and drive it. Put some Rotella and marvel mystery oil in it and go. Don't swap the motor until it goes, I'm curious to see how long it will run like that. If it is lifters w/sludge in them the MMO will clean them out.
