Anyone has done this ? The carbon brushes and voltage regulator are in same part, looks easy to swap but don't know where to get it. Thoughts ?

I don't know if the part numbers listed are compatible with your alternator, but here is a link where someone did this on a range rover.

On second thought, you probably have the valeo alternator.... that was for a bosch.

Most of the 4.0 V8's had a Bosch 130A unit fitted, we hold a spare brush and bearing set for ours.
The main bearing at the front is a special, back one is OK to source. Brushes were off the shelf from our favourite auto-electrician.
I'll see if I can get OEM part numbers.

Spoke to our supplier this ,morning, he is asking for the data from the alternator type plate before he can quote me part numbers etc.
Valeo is what was Paris-Rhone, SEV-Marchal, Motorola (Automotive) and Ducellier all rolled into one.

Bringing up an old post, but did anyone find a source for the valeo regulator for an '04 D2?
The one from dnlauto appears to be the same, apart from the wiring harness. Did anyone get it to work?

Should be the same, the current sensing element will be in the main unit, not the regulator.
