I'm in the process of getting new tires, (i dont want brands) what tire sizes will fit without rubbing or a lift? its the regular R16.

I ran 245/75/16 for a while with no lift, and didn't rub with normal street driving and mild off-road.
235/85 is a good look on a truck with no lift, it fills out the wheel wells nicely with no rubbing at all.
Buddy had 275/70's on his 03 then 04 had a 40mm lift and severe offroading almost everyday ( Desert Tour Company ) never rubbed anywhere.
With no lift and no to very mild offroading it should be alright. I ran that size on my D1 with no lift and sagging coils and never rubbed on road except on full lock.
Here is a pic of the 04 DII if it helps. Might look higher than 40mm but the ground is not even and there is a slight slope

IMHO any disco I or II with tyres lesser than 260 look puny.
