Need new front pads and rotors. Is Powerstop OE replacement good enough? One tire bald, ok to replace the one
or do I need to replace a pair (General Grabbers)?

Inspection time coming and was hoping to do the work myself. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Cheers

If you've got one bald tire, there's either a suspension/steering issue that needs sorting, or a badly worn spare was swapped into the rotation.

You need to find out which is true. In either event, you should buy more than one tire. As for the tire itself, calling it a General Grabber is like calling it a Michelin Pilot, or an annoying pop-singer. Unless it's got big red letters on the side, it's a Grabber (suffix).

If a vehicle isn't used routinely on trails, single tire purchases are only good for punctures and flower pots.

Cheers,

O'Reilly sells ceramic rear pads for like $25.

They don't have ceramic fronts for some reason. Akebono is a popular choice.

Rockauto.com has a bunch of different brakes at good prices.
Make sure you get the right pad for the rotors. Rover factory rotors on D2's are high carbon. With the right pads they will be great, wrong pads and they will suck. My buddy just put a Centric setup on his and it stops really well. It was the high carbon rotors, and the pads that go with those rotors (I believe the 100 series pads)

This thread made me take a look at my brakes, and indeed the front need to be replaced. I looked up on Rock Auto last night and Centric setup that my buddy did with the 125 series rotors and 100 series, total shipped to my house is just under $180. I will be ordering tonight. probably be doing the rear soon as well.

What did you end up using on yours?
