When replacing the instrument cluster do I need to get one with less miles than I currently have? And does it have to be an 07 cluster?
I thought I read that somewhere.

I'm afraid to answer you.

Is this the same truck that needed the tccm cleaned and the dash is lit up and it's on the bumpstops?
First question I have for you is what are all the vehicle codes your getting from all the systems on the car? Cause that's where we ended.
Why did the tccm need to be "cleaned"? Did a cat piss back there?
You have a coms issue, this coms issue doesn't sound like a cluster. Sounds kinda like the ABS module is offline. But without codes, who knows. But if it is abs coms it could still be something at the tccm conectors

HA...Yes its the same truck that had the TCCM cleaned. I cleaned the corrosion off the terminals and just ended up buying a used one from ebay. I can read the codes again tomorrow and post them.

So when I first trailered the truck home I had to put a starter and a new battery in it. It fired right up and raised off the bumpstops and I drove it around the block. The instrument cluster is reading km instead of miles. The low coolant light is on and the low tire pressure light along with the low fuel light... I parked it in the garage and next morning it was on the bumpstops and wont raise.... along with all the dash lights still on. So I bought a Gap iidtool and a used TCCM thinking it was going to fix my problems...... So here we are.... Now wait a minute.....I remembered the drivers side wheel bearing needs to be replaced. But I figured Ill do that when the other is sorted out.

You do have some modules picking on the instrument cluster. But before I pulled the trigger on that I would make some measurements on the CAN networks. I would like to know what the B code bitching about a module not programmed is picking on. The park brake code for ign switch input is something I would want to look into. There is a known problem with the power feeds to that module. Bigger white/green wires at the park brake.
Looks like somebody might have replaced either the cluster, PCM, or BCM and not programmed correctly. The vin mismatch code is a problem. Security handshake has to be made between BCM PCM and Cluster.

So did you just buy this? Cause it looks like somebody tried to fix this with one or more of those modules. Unfortunately your GAP tool is probably not going to be able to program any of those modules or run the mobilization procedure needed to set up those security handshakes I mentioned.

Hello - reviving this old post, as I am now the proud owner of this ‘07 HSE, and hoping the OP is still alive and has the truck’s original cluster.

Long time LR owner / wrench, and bought this for my son’s first car. I’ve gone through all the suspension bits (pump, air leaks, etc), and aside from one level sensor giving intermediate data, she sits and stands like new again. I’ve put about 300 miles on it now and while no spring chicken, it’s a perfect first car for my kid.

Questions:

are the clusters specific to option levels? This replacement doesn’t show nor communicate TPMS nor the adaptive lights.

this truck was originally from Canada / came over the border in 2013, so it was, as noted, in klicks vs. miles - does anyone know if the Canadian clusters are specific to CA cars, or are all BUS’ NAS?

Thanks for any help.

Best,

You probably could if your scan tool will overwrite the existing vin. Then you would have to run mobilisation because it’s part of the security handshake.
The best and easiest way to fix a cluster is send it to clusterfix.com. You won’t have to program it or learn security. $300 or whatever he charges is a bargain. I’ve never had a problem dealing with them
