Hi All,
I got SRS error light. Fixed the connector, but light comes back on. When I pull codes I only get 0x90 error. ABS no error, Diagnostic no error, SRS 0x90 error. Where should I look?

Could not find my other thread about the SRS, so here I am.

My SRS had been turning on after around 10 miles of driving. Took it to a local Land Rover shop and they identified it as the Airbag module, also known as the SRS Airbag ECU, issue. They would not change it, because the could not find the part. I bought one from Roverland Parts for $95 with a 6-month warranty. It's located under the power window buttons under the center console. Removed all the parts like the two gaitors shift knobs, and center console. Disconnected the battery, waited 10 minutes, then removed the SRS EDU. Installed the replacement, plugged the battery and reassembled everything else. No light for about three weeks now. The hardest part was removing the gear shift knob. Block the wheels, put it in nutural, hold the button and pull harder than you ever pulled before. It will eventually come out. The first time, I stood in the passenger side and pulled upward.

Hope this helps others.

Which connector did you fix, and why? Were you getting a different code pointing you to a particular component?

In my case the code indicated a problem with the driver air bag.

A replacement air bag did not solve the problem so I diagnosed further. I checked continuity and eventually found that the problem was a short in the connector at the DCU under the console.

I unplugged the connector and carefully removed all the pins from it. There was no visible problem with the connector (no crack, no dirt, etc.) so I carefully cleaned it, using a pipe cleaner with rubbing alcohol I think, running the pipe cleaner through the connector passages. I also wrapped the shoulders of the two suspect pins with 3M brand magic tape in an attempt to improve the insulation. I put it all back together and it seemed to work, although I still get the SRS light occasionally.

BTW, the SRS system does a self test each time the truck is started so there's no need to clear the SRS code once the problem is found and corrected.

Good luck.
