Can it be done?

Or how about 17" wheels?

There are a lot more tire sizes for 15 and 17 inch wheels than 16.

Out of curiosity, what 17" tire size would you want to run for which there is no 16" equivalent?

34-35's. ITs not that they dont make them in that size. Its that there are a lot more options thanks to the Jeep JK coming with 17" wheels.

Id like a skinnier 35. Not a fat and wide one.

5x120, I'm sure you could find them with a larger hub and get hubcentric adapters. VW uses 5x120 IIRC as well.

I had 15" American Racing steel wheels on my Disco when I was in high school. The ones I had were not hub centric. They were 5x4.75 which requires the slightest bit of filing to fit on the Disco studs. What size tire are you looking for?

I wasnt if sure 15's would fit on a D2?

Ideally Id like to find a skinny 35" tire. Seems like the only skinny 35's for 16" wheels are are Super swampers.

Skinny 35's are hard to find in most sizes. The TSL's are great off road. But I don't know how Widner daily drove with them. They ride about as smooth as a freight train on pavement. They do have the 35x10.50 radials but I think they are around $450/each.

I didn't find much from other brands either though. When these wear out I might go with a 12.50. Or the 13/36 TSL's if I decide to stick with Swampers. But that's still a long way off.

I'm sure it's market driven, but I wonder how many people would opt for a 35/11.5 if there were some decent options out there?
I'd be all over a set of those.

If it was a true 35 yes. But most 35's barely measure out to 34" my last set of 315/75's which is supposedly 34.6" measured out to 33" actual on the truck. So I'd like to see more options available in the 36-37" skinny tires.

They will definitely fit. I had to remove the front brake dust shields because small rocks would get stuck between the wheel and the dust shield.

Doesn't Michelin make a skinny ~35" tire?

I have 35's that dont measure 35. I also have 17" wheels and there aren't much more options between 16 an 17. If I could find 16.5 toyota wheels I would just buy 37" hummer h1 tires.

Please don't ever, ever, ever buy 16.5s or the useless H1 tires that fit them. Unless you really enjoy taking the tire off to re-seat beads every time you wheel.
