I have actualy been looking at Edge Products Insight CTS. Which ones have you used and can say worked?

The good thing with the CTS is you can expand it and add a back up camera. You can add other things to it as well, but they are more diesel related. Otherwise it does the same as the rest of them, unless you use it with a diesel.

I use the Scanguage in my DII and I'm about to order the CTS for my Duramax.

Hi guys! I made it with no real issues, didnt use mutch oil, still have a small coolant leak ill need to run down, and atransmission adjustment. But in all i think this is all small stuff. I will add that it was difficult to figure out MPG. It varried from 15.5 mpg to a little over 20 averaging at 70 mph. Ill be going diesel soon probably a 4.0 Cummins if i can find a kit.
But it got me here safe and sound no issues with me at all. Thanks everyone for the help and advice it all means alot.
As i like to say "A little information to head in any direction is better than staying in one spot".
Please let me know if i can ever return the favor....

Average my have been the wrong word to use. With Fuel consupmtion between those numbers i never had an average. Since im truLy going to use this vehicle i need to have numbers closer together to work with. When doing the math on fuel prices saving thousands of dollers a year its worth it. This is another reason almost every other country goes disel in these vehicles

I'll bite.
I burn about a thousand gallons of gas a year in my truck. Let it be at current prices of around $4.10/gal - $4100 a year.
If I swap in a hypothetical diesel engine that will bump my fuel economy from 12 to 18 mpg, and be paying about $3.90/gal (both prices are close to today's averages in San Diego), I'll be spending $2597 a year.
The yearly savings in fuel: ~$1500.
The cost of an engine swap: $10000, give or take. It'll take me about 6.5 years to recoup the cost. I am not convinced I'll still be driving the same truck in 2021.

Actualy i do beleive most american diesels will give you closer to 23mpg or better. This is based on information gathered talking with jeep and toyota guys. I just paid $3.80.9 a gal for regular yesterday. As well as how bad LR's do city driving. This is all state side, i wont bring my buddies from other counties in to it.

Most americal diesels are in the 6-liter displacement range, and installed on trucks with 10k+ lb GVWR. Honest people will tell you that they get 14 mpg, no matter what they do.

My 300 tdi 110 consistently got 27 mpg. My V8 D90 gets anywhere from 10-14 mpg. I imagine a 300 tdi Disco would get close to 30 mpg.
