Offered for sale is my 1967 Land Rover Series IIa 109 five-door wagon (not NADA). This truck is in very good condition with some great features. The odometer shows 88K miles, but actual mileage is of course unknown.

I purchased the 109 from the owner of a reputable European car dealer and service facility two years ago. He knew the history of the truck going back approximately 20 years from the time it was restored. This is a great running and driving vehicle that should provide years of good service to the buyer. This Rover always starts quickly and runs smoothly. Everything works except the handbrake. With the ?power? of the uprated Turner engine, it also keeps up pretty well with traffic and will cruise comfortably at 65 mph. Due to a long-distance move and a loss of most of my garage space, I need to part with this vehicle. The vehicle is currently located in Troy, MI (metro Detroit). Asking $8500 or best offer. For more pics or info, contact Greg at gsalchow@comcast.net or call 248.980.5539

The Rover comes with the following attractive features:

  • Galvanized frame in perfect condition
  • NEW parabolic springs installed
  • Turner 2.25L 4-cyl engine, in great running condition, topped with a two-bbl Weber carb and tubular headers
  • Overdrive
  • Warn lockout hubs
  • Newer axle shafts in rear axle
  • MSD electronic ignition
  • New fuel pump
  • Upgraded clutch and brake fluid reservoirs to new plastic type
  • New battery
  • Alternator and negative earth conversion
  • Fresh service including coolant and oil, belts, thermostat and hoses. All fluid levels checked and replaced as necessary
  • Good BFG MT tires
  • Brownchurch roof rack
  • New doorframe sections installed
  • New wiper motors and blades
  • Two new seatbelts added to middle seat
  • Box of spare parts included
  • Very good, straight body with NO RUST

Issues:

  • A few, small cracks in the paint
  • Rear door frame could use attention in a few years due to age
  • A few minor oil leaks in gearbox and maybe overdrive
  • One windscreen pane has a small crack, but is intact
  • Tear in seam on rear of driver seat upholstery
  • Handbrake inoperative (I haven?t had time to look at it)

Did you get the maintenance history documentation, when you purchased the LR??

Just parts of it. I believe most of it is on their computer system, if I can get them to retrieve it. Some parts such as parabolics were installed by me, so I have receipts for those.

I agree, it was a great find. The 109 also included a full galvanized rack and ladder which were not mounted when he took the pictures. I will try to post some pictures of the truck during the trip, we had a blast!!!!!!!!!.

Hi Freddie,
It was great to meet you, too. Glad to hear you made it back home safely. I'm glad she's going to a home where she'll be appreciated. I think my older son was a bit perturbed with me for selling the truck, but he's getting over it.
