I found what appears to be a great deal on an '87 Range Rover. It has a little over 100k on the motor with a number of new parts (alternator, belts, plug & wires).

The only real problems I know from talking to the owner are as follows:

Drivers door latch broken
Sputters (backfire?) a little on acceleration at low RPMs (possible intake leak)
Rear gate is starting to rust

What other things should I look for in this truck?

BTW...it will probably not be a primary vehicle. My primary is a 1997 Disco.

Thanks for any insite!

rust! rust! pull the carpets and look for corosion! front foot whells and rear load space. lower tailgate. drive it for a while, let her warm up! she should go and not be sluggish. check to see if ac and heating is working! ask for service history! then go get the meats, the bigger the better, the more the tyres bite the ground the better she will hog it out! ;)
