1994 RR LWB Question

I currently have a 2003 Discovery that the wife took and I want to get another one. So I stumbled upon a 1994 RR LWB with 180K miles, has a used engine installed, A/C rebuilt, trans service, new tires, coil conversion, interior and exterior look great. The mechanic that did the work, also takes care of my disco. Guy was asking $3,500, but said he would take 2K for it. I have searched the forums here and have read quite a bit.
So my question is, for those of you who own older RR, are they good daily drivers? Is maintenance comparable to my disco, as far as cost, etc. . . The only concern I have is the transmission and transfer case with 180K miles, so might have to replace this at some point just becuase of the high miles. Rust is not an issue, it is a TX car. Anything else I should be aware of?
Thanks

GO for it, a lot of miles and anything could go at this point. Mechanical issues arent so bad enough money will make them right. Rust and electronics are the breaking point for me. Offer him 1700 but take the 2k, money talks cash SCREAMS. If you can get it for the 1700, you can spend the 300 in about a day on neglected maintenance issues.

I drive mine daily 1200 miles/month in Texas and it's a great truck. However, when you do need to fix things it often takes a day or two to get the part delivered. I've solved that one by either working from home or getting whatever GM piece of crap Avis is offering for $25/day. Of, if the weather's nice, I'll drive the Mustang.

Thanks for all the replies. I have looked at the truck a couple of times, it seems to drive and run well? The engine that was installed was a used block with 80K miles, but I have been told that everything was redone on it. The transmissions in these, do they hold up pretty well? This one has 180K, but has been serviced recently, it does not seem to shift as smooth as my disco tranny. Maintenance cost, is it less than my 2003 disco?

14 year old truck versus 5 year old truck = too many variables to predict that. I've had many many older cars that cost far less to maintain than my newer ones. I've also had newer ones that cost nothing more than regular maintenance. If the maint. costs are an issue, don't forget the old axiom "Rovers cost $"

edit for spelling 'cause it's too early for me today.
