would be all over it if you were close enough to get to within less than a week.

mainly because I WANT that roof rack. and a diesel. and its white.

Yeah, that rack is a jewel and they are not easy to find anymore. This one has sand ladder mounts, too.

What needs to be finished up?

Truck sat for a year (in AZ).

Oil cooler is leaking. I replaced some hose, which stopped the leak for a while, but it's back. Probably needs a new set of good steel lines, maybe a new cooler (it'll take any old one).

I drove the truck 90 miles to get to the transporter a week ago to get it here (WA) -- somewhere between then and now the clutch lost all its fluid. Reservoir is empty, clutch pedal goes to the floor. I'm betting the master cylinder is leaky. There are a couple minor rust areas in the engine bay that need cleaning up (nothing significant). I barely even have the interest to crawl under it anymore.

The motor is good, though, and the conversion is well-done. It starts and runs easily. If I remember correctly the guy who helped do the conversion is a member here (BMW shop out of Sykesville, MD). It has Mark's 4x4 of Australia adapter plates, nothing home made. The 5 speed is good and shifts well. It's loud but drives well and it's quite a bit of fun to wheel. The ARB is straight and the winch works.

I have unused GBR axles that go with (missing a CV), rear 24 spline "HD" axles (dunno the origin), and a few other glamor bolt-on goodies (real deal Saudi grille, diff guards, matador work lamp). I'll also throw in 5 AB Wolf wheels for a D2.

I don't know much about the 6.2 but this seems like a killer alternative to the $15,000+ tdi's floating around out there.

The 6.2 catches a lot of flak from the hardcore diesel types because it's pretty low-power compared to a big turbo diesel -- but at the same time there are a number of giant forums devoted to the 6.2/6.5 alone. This motor will be running just fine ten years from now as long as the oil is changed every 40,000 miles. It's an iron block, a buncha cylinders, and a couple glow plugs. That's it. It needs 4 wires to run. I've always enjoyed driving it. The power is good and it sounds like a big block V8. It's heavy (~700 lbs) but the OME XHD springs hold it fine and it's not any heavier than any other big alternative diesel available for a conversion (ie Cummins/Isuzu/Perkins). It could probably benefit from D90 brakes.

I think my price is pretty fair considering the tasty bits that come with it. I'll work with people on shipping (I live right near the Port of Tacoma so it should be easy.) I'm just done wrenching on Rovers for now.

And yeah, I'm pretty sure Aaron's D1 300tdi is one of the cheapest diesel Discos I've seen @$13k.

that price looks more than reasonable. only thing i can suggest is to go ahead and get that clutch working. replacing the slave or master is cheap and no one wants to buy a car they cant drive.

I remember this truck when it was out here in MD. Its pretty nicely done. Its too bad its over on the wrong coast. I would be interested in it. I drove it a couple of times and the power was more than enough. Is it keeping its cool? Why the sudden loss of interest?

I want to say this truck sold for like $20k when ltfuzz bought it... but I could be wrong.

ltfuzz my advice is this, your asking price is too cheap and scaring people off. Also, if you dont want to raise your price, you might post it on the 6.2/6.5 forums. Some of those guys are die hard fans of that powerplant and might snatch it up.

Not $20k -- I paid $10k for it a couple years ago. Anthonypaden above has the right thread.

The price is low because I'm just done. If that clutch worked, and I'm 99.9% sure it's a $10 master cylinder gasket, I'd be listing it for more. But I'm just done. I'm in a new place (no garage), unpacking my stuff, gotta head back east for Xmas, have a whole buncha work stuff coming up etc etc. I picked up an LR3 for daily driving and I'm just done with the Rover world for a while. We've all been there. I'm not crawling under this truck anymore. I'm taking a bath financially but so be it.

I'm not selling this to people that don't know what they're getting, though, and that's been a few folks (couple 18-22 year olds etc looking for a cool mountain ride).

I've only had one Dwebber call which surprised me until I realized I had never even listed it on Dweb! This is a pretty competitively priced truck, though.

If it doesn't sell by the 21 DEC at $6k, it's going to a shop and getting sorted.

BTW for all your "wrong coasters" -- shipping coast to coast is only about $1k. I've done it 3 times with various companies and I've never paid more than $1200. I'd MUCH rather sell to a Rover guy and I can work with you there a little bit. I'm dead serious about getting this truck into the right hands.

Yeah, it was at Dens shop. Its a pretty nicely cleaned up truck.

Fuzz, whats the rust situation? What about motor temperature? Hows the new radiator working out?

Rust is pretty minimal. Some surface rust behind the back axle, one spot on the floor that could probably use a patch, and a little in the corners of the engine bay here and there.

New radiator and fans work great and waaaay better than the alum radiator + direct drive steel fan that was in there previously. Rad fans are controlled manually via a switch in the cabin. The Sunpro water temp/oil pressure pod should be replaced with something a bit more bespoke

Hmmm, any up to date photos of it?

Gonna see if it'll move locally by the 21st, as then I have to fly back east for Xmas.

If not I'll do a full ad with photos, details etc.
