In death, there is life. Or, at least, that's what I'm telling myself right now. The bottom line is my 95 had a catastrophic, yet mysterious, overheat of some kind within weeks of a renewed transmission being installed and passing PA inspection. If I weren't trying to get a 109 S3 off the ground, I'd fix it and go. As it is, though, it's time and money I don't want to put into it. It's worth it for someone to do it, though.
Quick highlights: RRC Great Divide Edition bumper, ARB snorkel, custom-fabbed rock sliders/tree rails, 235/85/16 Hercules AT tires with lots of life left
The bottom line: after replacing the head gasket in February thinking that was the problem, it turns out I likely have a cracked block. The overheating involved some kind of coolant explosion inside the engine bay which may or may not have been caused by or responsible for the heater core possibly going south. There are exhaust gases in the coolant, so that's more evidence of evil within. Exorcise that, and you're ready to roll.
A new engine and heater core is really "all" this truck needs to roll again. I have access to a friend's 3.9 for a straight swap-out for $550. It's sitting on a shelf awaiting a new opportunity.
It's a 95 from the Northeast (Pittsburgh, PA since 2012 and MASS from 1995) so it has rust issues, but it passed PA inspection in February, and is very manageable for somebody willing to keep at it. I've daily driven it for the past 9 years and tried to keep up with the maintenance as best as possible. It's definitely better than when I got it 10 years ago.
The price may seem a little ambitious, so I won't look away from a reasonable offer especially from anyone in the DWeb crowd. Feel free to contact me with questions. It has a lot of good left in it and on it; just give it a heart.
Top and inside shots here. *NOTE: the RRC clock has been pulled as "payment" for help on this, so it's pre-wired for your own RRC clock or there's a wiring harness included to re-wire the LCD clock. Awning and tools are not available with the sale. The seats are reasonably comfy, but the covers cover a multitude of sins.
Underside highlights (lowlights?) here.
