One of our mechanics would like to sell his 1997 Range Rover 4.6 Kensington edition. It has approximately 80,000 miles. We serviced it for a very long time before the mechanic bought it. He has completely gone through the car to make it mechanically sound. He would like $12,500 for it. If anyone is interested, please let me know. The car is located in Philadelphia, PA. aparlin AT alumni DOT wlu DOT edu

A new trim package, called the Kensington Interior, will be available for 4.6 HSE models midyear.
Available in British Racing Green or Beluga Black, the Kensington Interior package
features Lightstone interior with Ash Black piping. The package adds to the 4.6 HSE a handstitched leather covered center console and leather covered console-to-fascia side cheeks. A new cubby box with a padded leather lid opens to provide access to new-design cupholders. Additional genuine burl walnut trim is added to the audio system surround, climate control faceplate, window switch plate and rear air vent surround.
A new premium Harman-Kardon audio system is installed which delivers 320 watts of power through upgraded speakers including larger 25mm tweeters and a powerful dual six-inch driver subwoofer. The audio faceplate is branded with a gold Harman-Kardon logo to signal the premium audio system.
It is expected that the 4.6 HSE with the Kensington Interior package will be available by January 1997. Production will be limited by the hand crafted nature of the interior trim items.

Subject: 1997 Range Rover 4.6 HSE with The Kensington Interior
Land Rover North America announces details of a limited edition option package which is
now available for select Range Rover 4.6 HSE models. Called the Range Rover 4.6 HSE
with The Kensington Interior, this very special Range Rover is exquisitely appointed by
the craftsmen at Land Rover?s Special Vehicle Operations in Solihull, England. With even
more luxury cues than the standard 4.6 HSE model, it raises the standard of luxury
available in the sport utility class to new heights. Genuine hand-finished burl walnut and
individually selected leather hides are used to create an interior ambience that recalls the
great English clubs that flourished in the fashionable Kensington area of London.
The Kensington Interior includes:
? Hand-stitched Lightstone leather trims the center console body, console side cheeks
and padded cubby box lid
? Hand-selected genuine burl walnut trim for the HVAC surround, audio system
faceplate, window switch faceplate and rear seat console air vents
? Leather handbrake and gearshift lever
? Premium 300-watt Harman-Kardon audio system with eleven speakers, including
upgraded 25mm tweeters and a separately amplified dual driver subwoofer
? Harman-Kardon logo in gold emboss on audio system faceplate
? New design center console cupholders with burl walnut trim
The Kensington Interior option is available with Beluga Black or British Racing Green
exterior color choices. Lightstone is the exclusive leather interior color selection
available.
Just 650 Range Rover 4.6 HSE?s with The Kensington Interior are planned to be built.
Production through the craftsmen shops at Special Vehicles began in late November and
will be strictly limited by the handcrafted nature of the interior components to
approximately 100 units per month.
Full details about preferencing, ordering and vehicle supply will released by Retail
Operations in a separate Bulletin. Additionally, a specific consumer brochure is being
produced to support the Range Rover 4.6 HSE with The Kensington Interior.

Are you interested in buying it? It is not my truck, I am just posting for a friend. I will put anyone who e-mails me in contact with him. I don't have any photos of it.

Alyssa, do you work at a shop or did you own the Range Rover. If you didn't own it, would you buy this Range Rover from your mechanic? I'm interested and would like to get the mechanic's email address.

Thanks, Chris

I work at Land Rover Main Line. One of our mechanics (the one who has worked here the longest), owns the vehicle. I do not own the vehicle. I never have owned it. No, I wouldn't buy it, but that's not because it is a bad truck, it is because I have no use for it. I already have enough Land Rovers. If you will e-mail me at the e-mail address I posted above, I will send you his cell phone number.

The Range Rover has a wraparound front brush bar and rear lamp guards. The body is very clean and straight with only one small dent in the driver's door. There will be new brake pads front and rear, and new rotors in the front. He is installing a new rear diff because the old one was "singing" too much. The air suspension works quickly and well.
I am going to Range Rover training and will be gone all week.
E-mail FRANK at WHOKNEW1161 at YAHOO dot COM and he will gladly answer your questions (he is the owner/mechanic).
