I had to end up giving more for the vehicle then anticipated as I got in a little bit of a bidding war. However in the end I was local and won

Vehicle ended up being spectacular in my opinion.

I am going to advertise the vehicle for sale and sale it if I get the right price. If not I will just enjoy it for awhile.

I have 30K in it. And if anyone wants it on the board or D-90 board I am asking 35K. I am going to advertise outside the board for $36,900. I bought it to keep or make a profit....so we will see what happens

I have tons of pictures at www.frankiecarbone.com

I am telling what I paid and what it would take for me to sell it.
I think the true value is 35-37K on the vehicle. Look on autotrader.
If I don't get that price I would rather keep it. Kinda like...."I don't really want to sell this, but if someone wanted to pay XX amount I would sell it"

Thats it.

He's just saying he's offering a cheaper price both here and on D90 than out in public. Nothing wrong with that, but telling people what you paid for it only makes them want to offer $500 over that amount. If you only have $30K in it, then $1000 is plenty of profit. No one *here* is going to pay you five grand for locating a vehicle.

James,

agreed. I thought I got a good price so thought I would offer it up.
I could have not said a word about what I paid and no one would say anything about the price...I was just tryin to be upfront. Anyway.....I have no motiviation to sell...just looking for a reason I guess if someone wanted it. THere is very few of these in the Midwest where I am at so someone might be inclined to purhcase it and if someone offered it I would take it. Otherwise I just hold onto it and drive it.

I also don't think someone from the board will purhcase it(a regular) but perhaps a "lurker"

How do you like your '06 LR3 as compaired to the '04 Disco btw?

Frankie,

You didn't do anything wrong. If you have read this board before, you know that there are those that can't wait to flame someone for tryin to sell their rover. You gave us the price you paid and then offered to sell at market value. You were straight up and honest which is what most of us want from our car dealers. Invoice cost is something I always reseach before going to the dealer and you gave us that up front.

Actually, honesty in car sales if very refreshing. You shouldn't be flamed for offering more info than normal. If someone is interesed, fine. If not that's fine too. There is not call for flaming in this case.

I'd put it on eBay and Craigslist. With those low miles, you might get your price.

Your honest is appreciated, I only meant is is likely detrimental to your end goal of getting more... :)

I like the LR3 just fine. My left shoulder doesn't hit the driver's door anymore, and it is world's better comfort-wise. In a perfect world, I'd have both. :D

If he had not posted it that way, more people would have climbed out of the wood work to start firing away the links to the threads on D-90.com when he bought the truck and then would have started bagging on him more.

I've got a 1997 D1 for sale. I paid 5600.00 for it a year ago. I really do not want to sell it, but I'll take $9,000.00. If not, I'll just drive it.

The WORST place to make a profit off ANY car is on an "enthusiast" web site! You wouldn't go to a Land Rover Dealer and try to sell them a Rover at retail - they know better, so do most people on this board. $5000 is QUITE a proffit! Most car dealers don't make that. Craigslist and e-Bay are for proffit-makers!

Daniel - I'll give you $10,500 and not a penny more!

million dollar question:

HAVE YOU WHEELED IT? if not please do, you may reconsider your sale...

(if it was mine, and alot of us have rovers worth good coin, I wouldnt sell one thats as hard to come by as yours-its just money, $5k in profit is fine, but its better to just list your asking price rather than disclose what ya paid so publically-when you go to the store to buy item 'x' or a 'widget' , they dont tell you their costs...just basic marketing)
