1997 Land Rover Discovery SE $6,000 OBO

1997 Land Rover Discovery SE Rioja Red with Dual Sunroofs

Located in New Hope, PA 18938

120,000 miles.

Automatic.

She starts and runs great. Makes a great daily driver (in fact, was my daily driver up until 2 years ago when I started med school, at which point she became my parents 3rd vehicle and was used by my mother to transport her kayak to and from the lake and to get around in the snow).

Aside from ABS light, has no lights on (no check engine, no codes)! Shifts into high and low range with ease. Has been a great truck the whole time I've had her.

Original LR Accessories

Homelink transmitter for garage doors (215.00)
Safety Devices roofrack (1,100.00)
Wheel arch protectors (425.00)
Cool Discovery spare tire cover (130.00)
Land Rover Safari 5000 Lamps (350.00)
Rear lamp guards (165.00)
Rear ladder (115.00)
Dog guard (250.00)
Trailer wiring harness (160.00)
Genuine Rear Cargo Mat (the heavy rubber one) (110.00)
Waterproof seat covers (front only) (265.00)
1 Rear jump seat (500) - so this technically makes it an SE6 ... lol.
"Land Rover" - Raised Decal (50)
"Discovery" - Raised Decal (35)

* Prices next to description are for the items new, and if added up (please, allow me) come to 3,870.00. Obviously these items are no longer new, but are nonetheless still very functional and attractive, and do add to the value of the vehicle (albeit not as much as they once did) since they are genuine Land Rover accessories. At least that's my thinking :p

Accessories I installed

2" OME lift
Stainless Steel brake lines
AB front skid plate
Front and rear diff guards
Magnacore Wires
2 Hella 4000 Lights - Cornering Beam
2 Hella 4000 Lights - Euro Beam
2 Hella Matador Lights
Safari Snorkel
Optima Yellow Top Battery
Hood blackout - painted on

Recently performed services

Oil changed every 5k miles with synthetic
Full brakes and rotors done approx 5k miles ago
New shocks installed recently

Known Issues

ABS overly sensitive - I pulled the fuse
Rear bumper is bent on each side (due to fathers inexperience with backing up a trailer).
Rear quarter panels are bent a bit on lower edge from offroad
A few dents here and there from loading 2 kayaks onto the rack.
Misc. leaks from engine - nothing abnormal, nothing serious.
Cruise control does not work (vacuum leak, easy fix).

So, in conclusion, I absolutely love my disco and never thought I would let her go, but I'm moving to NYC in January to start clinicals (3rd and 4th years of med school) and I know from experience that the disco is not practical in the city (too tall). Yes, I know I could take off the roofrack and fit into parking garages, but what can I say, I love the look now and would feel terrible taking off all the "kit". Quite honestly, she deserves more - green fields, long drives through rough terrain - not to be cooped up in some parking garage. :)

So with the disco's best interests in mind, here we are.

Asking 6,000 OBO

Kind Regards, Dominik

P.S. I'm sorry, but I don't have the time, nor heart, to part her out.

oops, just had a chance to check, and the actual mileage on the disco is 113,000, not 120,000.

also i am adding to the list of goodies included with the disco a Warn xd9000i winch

well im originally from danville california, then moved to charlotte 5 (five) years ago, now in charleston as a student with a home still in charlotte. now you know me.

well that sucked. the moment i left it started to rain and never let up for the whole 315 miles.

anyway, just to confirm, i filled up before i left and 233 miles later filled up again with 19.33 gallons. 233/19.33 = 12.07 mpg.

not too bad considering i averaged 70 mph the whole trip ...

ok, i really need to go drink now ... i'll get the camera out tomorrow morning to take pictures of the truck. =P

dom

btw, yes, i know its a shitty picture. i took it using my phone a few miles before home. average of 69 mph, top speed of 95 mph, etc .... just proof that the disco can do it with no problems.

and no, the garmin c330 does NOT come with the truck. lol.
