Having spent all day yesterday tearing apart my Disco, here's everything I was able to remove. Truck was west coast its whole life so no rust or corrosion. Those who sent specific part requests I'll be in touch with directly. For those parts that weren't claimed in advance, this is what is available. I'm happy to offer discounts on multiple items. I will update the list as parts are sold. I might add parts if pre-sale buyers fall through.

Bigger items I'd rather not ship (pick-up or RURR preferred)

  • Aluminum aftermarket radiator 5,000 miles on it $160 SOLD
  • Factory roof rack cross bars $15 each or 3 for $40
  • Rear drive shaft (U-joint, good shape) $80
  • Front drive shaft (U-joint, rebuilt & balanced) $80 SOLD
  • 4 Toyo A/T tires, 235/70R16, nearly new $350 SOLD
  • 1 Michelin XPC spare, in amazing shape, stored under a tire cover $50 SOLD
  • Land Rover green oval spare tire cover (this one) $60 SOLD
  • Discovery cargo floor mat, the heavy duty rubber version $80 SOLD
Everything else (prices include shipping)

  • 4 Bilstein shock absorbers, about 40K miles on them, in good shape, $180, includes bushings SOLD
  • MAF $60 SOLD
  • Air box $60
  • Alternator $90 SOLD
  • Non-leaking power steering pump $90 SOLD

Since you still drive a disco don't you think it would be a good idea to keep some of that stuff? You know your gonna need some of it someday.

This is something I've considered. I am keeping a number of parts I pulled off the old Disco (not listed here, obviously). I also need to balance this with the constraints of limited storage space and the wife's tolerance for Rover hoarding. Right now I need the space and the cash more than the security of a spare part inventory.

I've had this challenge with parting cars in the past. In general, unless something is really special or you know you need it, I think it's worth selling as much as you can. Particularly with D1/D2, there are enough of them around in u-pull yards and parts on ebay that I'd rather roll the dice and get the cash in hand. If I need the part down the road, I'll probably get it for the same price and lose a couple bucks on shipping. Plus, I get to have all the space for my kids' crap in the garage.

Oh, GLWS.

Alright, dismantling is complete and I have a pile of parts in my garage ready for shipment or pick up. Original post updated to reflect what's still available.

Well not to fuck up anybodies good deal but.. keep that maf sensor. Also does the old girl have sunroofs? Get those motors out of her cause they are no longer available and the last known price was in the $700 range. The MAF was $1700 ish new if I'm not mistaken.

It's really not the end of the world. I had to get my last parts truck out of here just after thanks giving so I could get a tree taken down. She left with both motors , front roof just had the guides replaced and all that shit left. Now I need the door panels and they left in the back of it, already off the doors. Oh well.

235/70/16. It was a factory Michelin XPC. I just recycled it, there were some cracks on the tread at the base of the blocks. I still have 4 nearly new Toyo A/T tires in the same size I just removed. The cover was a pretty snug fit.

It's a good deal, you might ask around to piece together a ride for it. Someone might be headed your way, or at least close enough, who could transport it.

What kind of Radiator is it? Is it one of the after market ones with the plastic tanks?

Don't worry about the price of sunroof motors. The race to the bottom has them selling on eBay for $35 with free shipping. MAF's? I can't give them away at $50 and they've been tested and come with a warranty. There's very little that carries much value in these DI's these days.
