Holy crap. I just noticed all the holes drilled into the hood. Is that for grating cheese? Extreme cheese grater!

Holes in the hood are perfect for this truck.

Sorry if this question has been answered already but how well does this truck drive on the highway??? I know its hard for most of you to stomach this but I have a jeep tj that I went overboard on with one tons and links and coilovers, etc......... and its no longer road friendly at all. Thats why I bought my D2. I have done alot to it but not to this extent but im holding myself back from pulling the trigger and building the hel;l out of it too or hell... buying this one (if its not sold). hows it drive at say 65???

I have cut them into the sides of RRCs to vent heat, but how do you keep water from just running all over the engine and electronics? To each his own, have fun with it. I have seen worse.

It's a Rover, put a snorkel on it and you could drive it underwater if you wanted. Holes in the hood are not going to hurt anything. Tell me what EXACTLY water will hurt? Nothing. I even went in and made sure myself that everything is water-tight and such. Rover was on top of things.
Moving on.
The Rover will cruise at 80 on the freeway and do so with no hands on the wheel for as long as you dare. It drives damn nice on the freeway.

Contrary to what many of you Rover experts wish to think, the Rover is currently for sale at $8,750 with two very serious buyers. First being "JAKD-UP", second being an individual who says he has $8,750 cash ready to go and is local, and wants to pick it up this week.
I'd like to see it go to Josh, as he has "dibs" and is a big Disco fan, and I'm sure would treat the rover right and have a blast with it. With my current situation it would be much easier for me to simply sell it to the local for cash, though.
I told the local that If he gets here tomorrow with full amount, cash in hand, it's his, and if not then it's sold to Josh.

Being how flaky people are with these kinds of things, Josh will most likely acquiring the beast. We'll know real quick.

If Josh has "dibs" as you say, you couldn't wait two days for him to get you cash before you let the local guy take it?

It's going to be Josh's new toy. Just pulled the couple things I told Josh I'd like to keep and removed the stickers and gave it another wash. Tomorrow will be my last day of driving it as I will be parking it in the garage Wednesday and waiting for the transporter.

Are you REALLY going to argue that water can damage your engine through holes in hood during rain, when you've got an avatar like that? Seriously, tell me what it's going to hurt having rain get on your engine. The only thing I would worry about would be constant water on the alternator, but that does NOT get wet from those holes.

I commented on your statement:

Underwater? I'll ask again: really? A properly executed water crossing is a bit different than driving underwater.

Edit: Well, shit! You're 18. Let me pull up a chair so that I can learn from you.

As an aside, my avatar pic was taken before your balls had fully dropped.

I wonder how many times this truck overheated before he drilled the holes in desperation.

My favorite part about this post is how he wants to keep the LEDs and stereo. Nothing says "I can't afford it" like a seller removing a bunch of off-the-shelf parts before a vehicle is sold.

Straight up ghetto.

Drill big dumb holes in my hood OR fix the cooling system.

But then again big dumb holes make for great conversation with the guys at Auto Zone.
