It's good that people understood his point of view by the end of the thread. I would be raging pissed if that happened to me. In talking with him on the phone he sounds like a good guy who's built a great truck.

dkeach,

What does this (my old posting) have to do with my selling a Disco?

This was an accident that happened with L/R dealership customers Disco 2, being driven by an employee, who lost control of the car while driving to fast, in reverse. He got his foot stuck on the brake, wedging the gas pedal down while backing up. The dealerships driver was at fault, it was an accident, and all I was trying to due was gather facts for two reasons.

1. To identify a possibly known problem to L/R so that it could be corrected, hopefully preventing accidents of this type in the future.

2. To find out if that is what really caused this accident since it could be a contributing factor and to find out if Land Rover had failed to act on a known issue.

Finally for what it is worth I resolved this incident without a lawsuit. All that I asked for was to have my knee surgery expenses covered, but then that is my business and no one else's.

I did not attempt to sue Land Rover or file a law suit against Land Rover. That is not what I am about. I work hard, and believe that accidents happen, and that those who are responsible for mistakes need to step up to the plate and accept responsibility for their actions. The dealership did step up to the plate and my medical expenses were covered. I still buy parts there and I still have services done there.

Perhaps I should have finished the original post with the end results, but I did not think about it at the time since it really did not matter. Hope this clarifies the event and end result for you.

Have a great day.

I agree. $6500.00 would make a fast sell. But, I think he could get $8k for the truck if he sits on it long enough.

The Disco has been sold through a friend. Got what I was asking, thanks for all of the interest.
