I?m selling my 1999 Discovery Series 1, white, 105k miles, very good condition. One of the nicest you?ll find. The paint is clean and glossy. Interior is also clean, with minimal wear.

Basically stock with:
  • Heated seats
  • Single sunroof (doesn?t leak!)
  • 6 CD changer

The truck spent the beginning of its life in the west (Oregon and Idaho). I bought it 2.5 years ago while living in Montana. I moved to Pennsylvania 1.5 years ago. It had 88k miles when I bought it. Has just over 105k now.

Work since I?ve owned it:
  • Meridian steering box
  • New headlights (D2)
  • Rebuilt oil and transmission cooler lines
  • Installed rebuilt injectors
  • New fuel pump
  • Tires (Cooper Discoverer S/T, 13k on them)

All power options work (seats, locks, windows, sunroof). ABS works! No warning lights on the dash. Have one remote, owners manual, original window sticker, load space cover. Will include a set of generic floor mats.

Issues:
  • Very minor rust in the door jambs, just starting to bubble, still solid
  • Some surface rust on the frame and on the front bumper from rock chips
  • Cut in rear seat (sealed, there when I bought it)
  • Chip in windshield, just above instrument panel
  • Clock is missing some digits
  • Backlight on radio does not work
  • Could use rear window seals
  • Some rock rash on the wheels

If the sun ever comes out, which is rare in Pittsburgh, I?ll try to get some pictures in better light.

I?m asking $4200. Flame away. But if you?re looking for a clean, unmolested D1, this is your chance. Donation made to DWeb if sold. Clean, clear title in hand. Inspected in PA through October. Delivery is possible. I will also consider Rover parts (rear locker, bumper, winch, etc) as partial trade. Contact by PM or at schwabde1 @ gmail dot com

Thanks

Nice truck mate but I'd try Ebay or somewhere else that doesn't know as how cheap Disco's can get.

Honestly, Ebay brings $ for Disco's, more than I would pay anyway. I got my 95 in similar condition except for the blown head gasket for $1500. $500 later I was driving this truck.

'95 is a "good" year and I would tout the aluminum body panels to perspective buyers.

Good luck with the sale!

There is a big difference between 95 and 99....especially since 99s were the last DI models. To many, even on Discoweb, 99DI white in this condition is THE truck. His price is on target for the person who wants it bad enough!

You're right, the GEMS engine in the '95 is much better.

But, point taken, it is a '99 and beautiful. I am glad it was sold so quickly.

No longer available. Planning to close the deal on Monday. If anything changes (which is unlikely), I'll let you know. Thanks for all the interest.

The new owner might want to consult with Mr. Daniel Chapman if he intends to build this vehicle within true overland specifications. I believe he is in the process of creating a "how to" manual in creating the perfect and most unique overland travel Series I Discovery.

Merely having the correct vehicle, vehicle color and off road equipment is not enough. Knowing which French press to have and titanium cooking gear is paramount. Both items rich in off road history.

Though I don't believe Mr. Chapman's fine overland Discovery has yet to make it very far off a paved road, it certainly appears to be capable of such a feat with Pelican cases abound.
