Just put the OME 2" on my truck and took it to the mountains. It performed great, except now it squeaks rhythmically starting from a stop.

Front driveline?

Bad lug on wheel?

Dirt in rotors?

Stuck calipers?

CV?

All is possible.

It happened when above 15 MPH after the rocky trail.

Now it happens from starting to move.

Sounds like a fan belt squeak, but happens with movement of wheels, not engine.

I'm not an expert on lifts, but since it started after you went to the mountains, I would start by checking to see if you have some debris in the wheels/rotors. It might be something as simple as a piece of brush caught on the backside of the wheel causing the squeak. Once you rule that out, I would go and re-tighten all of bolts that were removed/reinstalled. It could just be the lift settling in and will stop once it self adjusts.

chirp, chirp, chirp. chirp, chirp.

does the dust shield need to be on there? really.

I got the three u-joints and the centering ball at NAPA since it needs to be done anyway.

Precision, so it is USA made.

I wish they had 4 so I can do the back one too, but that will happen later.

What do I ned to know about this surgery? I have a print out of a 19 page how to.

Thanks guys.

I will let you know how it goes.

It should happen next weekend, until then the rover is in the driveway. I do not want a window in my tranny.

I rebuilt the drive shaft (with a bit of help on the double cardon refit from the driveline shop) 40 bucks saved me some swearing...

I am going to the mud hole, so I will see how it all fits and works. Will report back in a few hours...
