Is anybody running 265/75R16 on a Disco1 with just 2" of lift ? Just want to make sure they will clear before ordering new tires for the new lift.

You should be fine. A lot of guys are running OME HD springs, which are around 2" of lift with 265/75's with no problem. RTE springs normally net a little bit more lift than what they say, so you'll be ok.

I did the CB lift and got 2 1/2". I am running the 265/75/16's. I did have to do alittle trimming all the way around.

I trimmed the front bumper. Plastic parts only and the plastic/fiberglass lower door sill. the front trimming was mostly for looks.

The rear required some minor trimming. I trimmed the sill plastic/fiberglass mostly for looks but the body behind the tire HAD to be trimmed alittle. While flexed it would get into the body badly. I trimmed alittle and used a rubber hammer to push the rolled body in futher. Then filed it down and painted it. Its easy to do, dont be scared to trim alittle, just take your time. Mine looks great and unless you tell someone its cut, they will never notice.

With the lift I had a problem with the rear swaybar kicking up while flexed so I removed it. If you want to keep it on you will have to lengthen the dogbones.

If you do not take it in the woods you wont have any of these problems.

I'm getting ready to lift mine as well, i'm going cheap style. I'm just gonna put my rear springs up front and put som RR3-2 on the back, then slap on some 235/85R16's. With some DAP Pro Comp ES9000 Extended length shocks. All said and done, it will look tall and mean and all for under 1000.00. SWEET!

I have that exact setup. The tires rub at full lock, and although I have yet to trim the lower rear wheelwells, it needs to be done. I have an ARB front bumper, no clearance issues there. Lots of compliments when drivng around.

I ran OME HD 2" w/ same tires and rub at full lock, adjust the steering stops. I also had a slight rub at full flex in the rear qtr pannel. Required a little bit of trimming, just a tiny bit. Being you are getting RTE I doubt you'll need to do this.

I have a set of springs for the rear to do the "cheap" lift if anyone's interested. I bought them years ago when I had my '94 Disco but never installed them. They are used (bought them that way) but in good condition. There are in an OME 763 box but I don't think that's what they are. I bought them from an old member of this board who I believe upgraded to the 763's. These are supposed to be the ideal springs to put in the rear to do the rear to front swap. Gives you a 2" lift all around.

Post or better yet, email me at shanec@c4caraudio.com if anyone's interested. I sadly :sniff: parted with my Disco and don't need these now.

98' Disco I with OME HD lift, Dunlop Radial Rover R/T 265/75-16's and Rockware front bumper.

Front - no issues other than steering stops

Rear - Rubbed rear of wheel arch when the tire stuffed. I measured back 1" at bottom quarter panel edge and drew an arch that tapered into the factory edge at about the 2 o'clock position. I then drew another line 1" in (towards the wheel well) from the first line and followed the first line up to where it intersected the inner flange edge. The second line is where I cut and then bent back that 1" until the flange matched the original. The new wheel arch matches the 265's and now the tire stuffs without interference. It did crack the paint but I don't have a raw metal edge that would result if you just cut off the 1" of panel. A little touch-up paint fixes the paint issue.
