I recently installed the timber Trail 4X4 boost pin in my 95 Disco. The results were great the mid range power and hill pulling have improved. I haven't checked the mileage yet but it seems to be about where it was previously. easy to install and well worth the price.

definitely worth it. noticed it especially when accelerating uphill at 65. how much smoke are you getting when pulling hard?

Mine hardly smokes in the cold temps unless I make it, and even then it's hardly a cloud. When it's warmer and I'm pinning it, it'll smoke. If I intentionally make it smoke at warmer temps it'll lay out a cloud.

I have the boost pin too in my 300tdi. I bought in on ebay uk and I think it was made in Poland. I had to adjust the top diaphragm screw upwards to reduce smoke on acceleration. It still smokes black if I really get on it but otherwise is pretty clean. I dont know the mileage yet but I like the performance. I still get bluish white smoke first mile downhill when cold so I think I should advance timing a bit.

Boost pins make for an easy way to tune the VE injector pump without having to fiddle with that odd ball shaped standard plunger. Properly set you can get more mpg from the TDI and therefore benefit the planet. Steve

This thread is timely. This weekend, I was wandering around looking for ideas to eek out a little more low-end grunt from my 200 110, and found the Timber Trail website. Watching the video, the discussion on the star wheel intrigued me. Moved mine CCW 4 clicks and found much better low-end driveability. But, slightly less boost, and a little less top end power. I haven't drilled the manifold for the EGT. Chose to go CW one click, which seems to be about the same for low-end, better top end.
Going to order the pin now....
