Hey guys,
Newer member of the forums. I just purchased a 2001 Disco II a couple weeks ago. Its a well-maintained 2 owner car with only 85,000 miles on it. The truck has mild mods done to it. The truck runs great, but on a recent longer trip it started acting a little funny. Around 65 to 75 MPH it felt like a slight hesitation and felt "bogged down" for a couple seconds. During this event, the Service Engine Soon light started blinking. At first I thought it was just the way my wife was driving, but then I experienced it for myself a few days later. Anyone have any ideas on what this could be? My first thought would be a fuel or air issue. The previous owner had just replaced the MAF and all its componants. Any more info/thoughts would be great! Thanks guys!

You need to read the code - most likely tell you what is going on...no idea on the maint of your truck but wires, plugs, O2 sensor could be the culprit. Also run some fuel cleaner through it for a few tanks as well.

Thanks! I thought about running some fuel cleaner through the system just to be safe. It has new plugs and wires installed less than 3000 miles ago. Ill try to the fuel cleaner and see if that helps. Thanks again!

For what it's worth.... In general, if the SES light is blinking, it's meant to be an indication a serious problem. (in your case it seems to be intermittent) It's a different indication from a steady check engine light. I advise my wife to pull over and call me if she ever gets a blinking check engine/service engine soon light. Definitely find out what codes are stored and address them as necessary before you have a bigger problem.

Just my take/advice.
