Are they worth a crap?

I have only seen 1 04 with them mounted, and they had a set of Yakima's too. I thought about leaving a note on their windshield offering to take them off their hands.

Im asking because i am looking at getting a tandem sit on top kayak and i dont need a full rack, although i wouldnt turn one down.

Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks again.

They're not bad. I had a set on one of the '04s I owned. More wind noise than you would expect, but nothing like the noise from an SD rack.

They were actually very strong and I wouldn't be afraid to strap kayaks and shit to them, especially if you found the right kit. The front bar is adjustable, the rear fixed.

I have a set of these and am not impressed. Don't know why LR changed the roof bars on the 04's to some non-standard size that does not take the Yakima/Thule crossbar mounts. The crossbars are very wide and some of the Yakima/Thule attachments don't fit the crossbars.

The bars themselves are sturdy although the mounting brackets are hard plastic which does not give me much confidence. They did hold up a fully laden Thule carrier on a cross country trip. If you do install them, you will probably tear up the plastic inserts on the roof bars
