Southern Land Rover Society (SOLAROS) presents the 2004 Southern Appalachian Expedition (SAE)

EVENT SITE: Mountain Oak Cabins and Campground Directions / Website

EVENT SITE:

We have secured the entire Mountain Oak Cabins and Campground for SAE. Mountain Oak has showers, a laundry room and electrical and water hookups at most campsites. Mountain Oak also has twenty-nine 30 and 50-amp hookups for RVs.

There are 47 campsites at the campground (but do not be alarmed there is plenty of spots for camping that are not designated as campsite that we have the ability to use) with 18 of the spots having electricity and water and 29 spots having 30 and 50 amp electricity, sewer and water hookups for RVs.

Mountain Oak is located on Mulky Gap Road just one block from the intersection of Blue Ridge Highway (Old US 76) and Mulky Gap Road. Three miles past Mountain Oak Mulky Gap Road becomes Forest Service Road #4.

TRAILS:

This should be an excellent offering of trails between Beasley Knob (5 miles from campsite), Cooper?s Creek/Suches (3 miles from campsite) and Tellico (35-40 miles from campsite).

Just a reminder that SAE is $30 if your registration is postmarked by Monday, October 25, 2004. After that it is $35 and then $40 at the event.

We are ordering stickers, t-shirts and the number for Saturday dinner soon so the more we know who are planning to attend the better.

If you have any questions please feel free to email me at president@solaros.com.
