Land Rover Freelander becomes baby LR3

. . . . And guess what will underpin the next Freelander ? the C1 platform. That?s right, the same platform that supports the Mazda3 and Volvo S40 here in the States and the European Ford Focus across the Atlantic will show up again on our shores, but not beneath an all-new Focus? not just yet. . . . .

Roughly a Subaru Forester competitor. The LR2 has better styling but can it come in at $25K-$30K?

what are the chances the diesel will make it state side? even so it still looks like some plain vanilla cute yute. a dumbed down version of the hideous LR3.
i am trying to keep a positive attitude, but shit like this makes is so damn hard. there is already little distinction between LR brands (except the new RR) and all the other boring stream of cars coming from everyone else.

it would be great to see a lightweight, solid axle, low range with locking t-case, clean, simple, nice looking and priced well small suv from LR. they had a chance to market something like that to the US market and it fell on its face. literally.

they better bring the price in line or we are going to have a repeat.
