NICE! That's one big blower on that thing. It's kinda nice you can actually see the engine. I hate it on so many modern cars, the engine is hidden beneath plastic. The LR3 Engine is a good example of that.

We've got a 2005 GT Mustang Convertible at the dealer down the street...I see it all the time...and I'm in LOVE. That's Cobra is sweet too.

That is sweeeet. I really like the newly designed Mustangs, I heard that GM is going to redesign the Z-28 and Trans Am in the near future. I tried to find some info on it but could not find any..

I sat in the 2005 GT at the St. Louis Auto Show. Unfortunately, once the door was closed I could not breathe :( I am just too big for this kind of car. But damn, they look great.

A friend of mine in NC took delivery of his 05 GT and is already "tweaking" the car.

Maybe now that the vehicle manufacturers are on this retro kick, perhaps the member of Fords Premier Auto Group will get the same treatment. Could you imagine a 2007 Series IV. It would look almost exactly like the Series vehicles with the inset radiator panel but of course have a modern touch to it. That would be great.

After my first outing in a new Mustang, I was impressed. It was a little bit too small in the car, I am 6'3". Ride quality and handling was far beyond any prior Mustang. The 3 valve motor does have a great sound to it, and clearly makes a lot of very efficient horsepower. All hell will break loose when you turn off the traction control and start to get after it. It is a complicated drivetrain, and beyond anything I would consider serviceable for the home mechanic. A timing belt change on one of those motors would be a nightmare. I have spent some time behind the wheel of an old Shelby 500KR and would love the chance to beat on that new Shelby for a while. As for owning one, well I will just stick to my old GT, with all the balls but none of the bells and whistles. :)

No you don't. I know they look mighty tempting and they are attractive cars, but I've been to the plant and have seen the cars up close. They're slapped together like P & B sandwiches. Also there not to impressive on the dyno, especially the supercharged version. :(

I'd agree with Gabe. Anytime a company like Unique Performance gets paid big bucks for pumping out modded and modernized versions of classics they seem to short cut the goods. Not only that, but those pinheads are chewing through hundreds of solid Fastback Mustangs (and now other classic models too, looks like) that would be better 'preserved' without the hype of Gone in 60 Seconds. Anybody who's spent time restoring classics knows what a pain it is to un-do somebody elses "upgrade".

not only that, the estate of Toby Halicki probably doesn't see a dime.

Gone in SIXTY seconds...the original. Now that was a good flick! ;)

Correct me if I'm wrong, but their top of the line is a 427 with a Vortech S Trim pushing about 11-12 pounds of boost. I think the car only threw down 650rwhp on the dyno. I'm assuming with a forged bottom end, and some decent head work.

Don't get me wrong, thats pretty fair for that setup. But at $165,000 a pop? Lmao.
