There's a good article on the "pre-run" of the 2009 C4 challenge for LR3s in Mongolia in the December issue of Road & Track. Only 2 full pages, but it looks like it will be an interesting locale. Ray
After the stunning success of Kalimantan they went to Mongolia and drove over the grass in Freelanders with kayaks and bikes stuck on top of their trucks.
I tried to get excited about G4 but it is really an event for pussies when compared to the real Camel Trophy events prior to Mongolia.
I am not knocking the use of Freelanders in Camel Trophy, I am knocking the shift from a vehicle based competition to a bike, paddle, run competition that caused Land Rover to pull out of Camel Trophy.
Camel Trophy went on after Land Rover pulled out but it was no longer a real competiton worthy of the moniker "the olympics of offroading".
