We've had temps in the single digits lately. LR4 started and ran great but one morning the heating element in the windscreen only worked on the passenger side.

Not a big deal, figured I'd check the fuses and do a little reading. Of course, I haven't gotten around to either.

Then the next morning, the driver's side worked just fine but the passenger side did not. In both occasions the heated screen light on the HVAC panel was light for both the front and rear screens when we started the vehicle.

Any ideas about why the one side of the heating element would work one day but not the work the next day while the other side didn't work the first day but did the next?

Are there independent sensors for both sides?

Saw someone else post about this on a Fb group recently. Don’t know if it resolved but advice from several folks was to check the 2 ribbon connections on each side behind the A pillar trim. Check them and make sure they have power when the screen heater is turned on.

thanks. i'll take a look at that when it warms up some. really don't want to break any of the plastic clips in the cold weather.
