I'll be leaving Murray on the morning of the 12th so it would appear I'm the northernmost person departing SLC. Ben, I can meet you at your place and we can pick up Geri in Provo. Sound like a plan?

Yep!

Jason, when are you leaving?

I am going to try and leave Boise on Tuesday afternoon or early Wednesday. I may try and hit Moab on Wednesday. I've never been there, and I'd like to see the town. May meet up with Chris and hit some microbrews Wednesday night.

If that doesn't work out, maybe I can meet up with you guys before you head down from SLC.

Cool app. It wasn't updated to support iOS 5.1 though and it's no longer in the app store. Bummer. We'll just send texts with updates or something (how uncool). Or there's that find my friends app.

It's going to be in the low 80's on Mon-Tue-Wed in Moab.

That sounds so good right now, sitting here in sub-freezing, snowy Colorado.

Looks about 10 degrees cooler in Blanding. Still nice though.

I'm sitting here on the porch at Rudy's, eating a brisket sandwich and doing my office work remotely. I've been watching all of these built trucks on trailers heading up the pass on their way out of town. It's torturous. I can't wait to leave.

Work has been hell this last few days and I haven't gotten any packing done. It's going to be a late night for me tonight.

Amen! I hope this place burns to the ground while I'm gone. It seems like they always find a way to really send me off with a bang right before I go on vacation.

Amen. I'm just finishing a massive project at work.

I did pack up my disco last night though... Oh man, the new storage/ tie-down platform is nice.

This has been a shitty week. I'm ssooooooo ready to get out of here. The more I get done in my truck, the more work I seem to have. When I get the fridge wired, I should be good.

Got the spares Pelican packed tonight. Went to town with the vacuum sealer, broke everything down and sealed it up as small as possible. Everything fits a lot better but oh fuck, that Pelican is heavy. It has to weigh at least 100 lbs.

I'm going to try a new cooking technique this trip in hopes that I'll have good meals that can be prepared quickly. I'm making Honey Jones chili and refried black beans and vacuum-sealing them in plastic bags. When it's time to cook, I'll just toss a bag in hot water and cook until hot, then squeeze-n-serve. If it works, they'll be much less clean-up and food prep is a cinch. Easier to pack in the Engel, too, because there's no Tupperware.

Tomorrow is truck packing day and it's going to be a bitch. I'm so jealous of you Disco guys. You can get the 1650's in the back and on the roof if you have to. I have to get all of this shit in the back of a D90, including the goddamned fuel and water cans. It's like a jigsaw puzzle and there's really only one way to make it work. Still, fuck all of those ExPo guys and their trailers. I can bring all of this shit in my tiny truck. No fold-out dishwashing racks and 30 lb propane tanks but I'll have what I need.

You lucky dogs, our installation crew, run into some trouble on an equipment installation in China so I have to go help our guys, so I'm not going to be making it to southern Utah with you guys, I'm really upset after all this preparation, but work is what pays bills and nobody can do this at the office for me, it was a fire that started today, and all this after the new HD tie rod, steering relocation kit, heim joint panhard rod, new bumper w/ winch, new driveshafts and suspension done to the truck for this trip. so I wish you guys a safe trip, with no breakages and good luck I was looking forward to get to know you guys, but hopefully this is not the last time that something like this gets organized, I hope you guys have a blast
