My LR4 seems to take a long time to get toasty warm. No hot air really blows that hard. I turn on defrost (upper), face and lower buttons. Then turn on at 60deg and I get air coming out of all locations and a lot in the face. When I turn it up to 80deg auto fan blows hard again, but something changes and nothing (almost nothing) comes out of face. Seems like the footwell does not blow all that hard either.

Friday night I drove and it got warm in 15 minute, but not really toasty. After sitting for a bit while I was in the store it was pretty toasty on the way back, but still operated the same.

If I crank the fan turn off AC, crank the temp, next to nothing ever comes out of the face vents and it seems lacking in the foot well.

It was about 20deg F

I’ve found the heat to not be hot sometimes, but only in shoulder season weather. When it’s cold like that, it blows hot.

Stupid question… did you check the coolant level?

Not stupid. I didn't check, but will. Dang, let's hope it's not low, that might bum me out.

Reservoir is at cold fill level after driving a bit farther. It did get toasty after about straight highway drive for 20 min. Just no face vents.

it should be above cold fill at temp but not by a lot. Are you running it in auto? Or full defrost? Auto will do weird shit for a while as it levels out temp and humidity. Turn the middle dial all the way up and toggle the direction things on and off for each one to make sure the blend door moves. GAP tool has a test and reset for that IIRC

I think it is a tad above fill level that is just how I mentally noted it. I will check it again this AM as it is 13deg now.

When I tested (not on auto), I turned temp to HI on both dials, turned on all toggles and still nothing out of the dash/face vents.

I will check on the gap tool.

Did you check the cabin air filter? It could be blocked/dirty preventing proper airflow into the cabin. Outside of that, it could be a heater core that is starting to plug up... this is the worst case scenario.

Is the engine temp coming up quickly?
