Comments please? I am on the fence between these and the 225/75. They will be MT's. Primarily a pavement pounder, stocker XPC's currently. Unknown OME springs, RTE down the road. How much of a dog is the 3.9 with a 245? I hate to ask but I did.

Not much difference indeed.
When I put OME HD on the Rangie, 245/75 was what I got. Disco felt more of a dog with 245s than the Rangie.

got them on the 91 because that's what it came with. but I would never buy this size of tire, they are too small and I'd rather go with 235's. Coming from series land rovers the 3.9 has plenty of power for my driving style. No idea what a RR is supposed to feel like stock as I've never owned a stock one. Honestly even I don't think I would ever buy anthing smaller than 235's as I know at SOME point I am going to wheel it. IMO that is the correct size for a land rover. Or bigger if that is your thing. Get a good set of Radial Rover RT's or some other mix use tire in 235/85 and don't look back. If you want you can drive my rr with the 245's tihs weekend if you come to Uwharrie.

The 245's I had on my truck were not bad at all and I wheeled the shit out of them to. Did a few things that mike was not able to do with the tire's I have now! I had a heavy foot that day!

When in doubt throttle out. I could manage big tires with a manual gearbox easily. The ZF in the RRC is nice within its means, I know a 32 is to much tire for it.

At the time I bought the 245s, I've had my jeep on 35s, so...
But if I hadn't, they would've been too small indeed.

I run bridgestone 245/75 M&S most of the time. No difference in (lack) of power from the 225's. Here's my truck on an old set of Goodyear MT/R's (same 245/75r16) I bought to abuse this weekend. OME MD springs, so 1.5" lift.

I'm going through the same discussion with myself but I think I'm going with the 225/75 for my 95 lwb. When I had my 91 Hunter I ran 215/85's & was very happy with them. (I had to make modifications for bolting in the spare).

245/75...by a mile. the 235/70 (same give or take as 225/75) we're great road/daily tires and occasional offroad tires. but the little extra height from the 245 helps a heap

if i had a do over and hadn't needed a whole set in the middle of baja...235/85.

bfg a/t is the flavor i have now

had the LR HD springs (1.5) when i got the 245s. now running OME HD (2")
