Anyone running 255 70 R16 tires with a EMU 2" lift on a DII and if so how do you like and do you have any pics? It's time for new rubber as my Scorpion AT's are worn out. This is the size that I'm currently running on my stock 2000MY and i'm on the fence about upsizing. I would like to install the EMU springs and shocks at some point but maybe not for a bit but would hate it if these tires looked too small when I did get around to it. Thanks for any info.

Tires smaller than the 265-75-16 will bother you and you will end up loseing money to upgrade latter. Spend it now, thank me later.

This was with 255/70/R16 BFG TA/KOs w/ 3" OME lift.. I ended up upgrading to 265/75/16 trXus M/T's.. I'd say about 50/50 between the fact that they looked small and that I wanted MTs

Actually Ryan if those are 255 in that pic it looks pretty ballanced. Not too big but I would do only the 2" lift. Do you notice a big difference in performance on road between the two sizes?

Eh, I noticed a little bit of difference between the change, but I think it may just be because I'm using a mud tire instead of the all terrain.. the 255/70s weren't bad with the lift, and I wheeled with them a bit.. as the saying goes.. go for it!

Here's another pic w/ a bit more sunlight w/ the 255/70s & 3" lift:

Excellent examples! Thanks so much for posting these. I think that the 255's just might do. Now I have to decide if I want to get another set of Scorpions or try something else. Can't beat only $100 per tire though. Thanks again.

I got my trxus' for $140/piece @ www.tirepackage.com .. shipping was very low, and they got here in like 3 or 4 days..

I know this is off topic but:
TrXus MT's are good tires. I have run them in a lot of sizes and they do great. They are very good MT's in (for the most part) every type of terrain. They also are good on the street wet or dry. And they preform well until the tread is gone unlike BFG MT's or GY MTR's. Its a great tire.

I've had Scorpion's on my Disco for about 30k miles and they have been good to me. That said, I believe the Trxus are in my future.

I am running that combo right now... runs/drives great, but if I was buying new tires I would go a little bigger.

You can get 30 K miles out of them and they handle just as well on road when its dry and I think they do better the BFG MT's when the road is wet. Off road I think they do better in most types of terrain. At least in the types of terrain I wheel in.

Ryanspeed, how was the suspension stiffness with that OME setup? Looks like you don't have any heavy accy's and I was wondering if it might be a little stiff?

It's all about personal preference Jeff and what you do with your vehicle. And personally the only reason I can see buying bigger tires is looks and maybe a bit of lift, very small. I have 255/70-16 on my D1 with OME shocks which give about a two inch lift. I think it looks pretty beefy. I had the Goodyear MT/R 265/75 but the performance SUCKED! By performance I mean acceleration and top speed. That may not be an issue on D2's. Whatever floats your boat.
