I'm in the process of wiring up the 4.2 that went into my '89 RRC. I've discovered that the 4.2 oil pan doesn't have a socket for the "Low Oil Level Sensor". If it makes a difference, the 4.2 was a serp, and the 3.9 was a v-belt.
First question: does the 3.9 oil pan work on the 4.2? If so, then I won't have to worry about omitting the sensor altogether.
Second question: did the trucks that came without the sensor sockets in the pan simply not have the feature, or is there another provision for the sensor somewhere else? From this link on rangerovers.net, it appears that it should be pretty straight forward to disable the feature should I have to stick with the 4.2 pan:

I know there's plenty of engine swap threads out there, but I wasn't able to find any info on the subject.
