I'm a semi-new member to this site and a proud owner of the reappearing 3 Amigos.

Is there a way for someone to put a STICKY on this subject? I just done a search and there is 5 pages of stuff on this subject!

Looks as if this is something most of us have and I'm sure would like to get rid of.

Why not a class action suit? If something is this popular to have it's own name I would think that Land Rover should pony up. I drove my 03 Disco off the lot three months ago and 1 week into it I am greeted by the tres hombres daily when I hit the speed bump at work.

The other day we were driving and "ding, ding, ding" after not showing their face for at least a week and my wife said, "Their back"!

Thought it was very funny for her to address them like that.

I/ve had them fixed many times. They are going off right now but I now know the following:
IF your breaks squel, even only a little when cold, and the three amigos go off while breaking, your are due for a breakjob.
IF you get the three amigo with no squel, than the problems with the ABS modulator. Previously, the Dealer would just replace the modulator but I heard LR is coming out with a rebuild kit for the ABS, If it is not out already........

Yeah they have 2 kits out now. one ($60.00 + tax) and a full kit which has the front face of the ABS unit + shuttle valve repair kit its around $700.00 + tax. I bought the shuttle valve only, and i have yet to get the codes cleared (doing it sometime soon) but it took me 40 minutes tops to replace it, and i had NO IDEA what i was doing:smilelol:

watch out the estimate from dealer. I got quoted over $2k replacing whole module but instead got that repair kit and done, very simple job.

repair kit SW0500030 (the dealer)

Its only $5 more at the dealer then roverparts.com, after shipping i think it would be cheaper to go to the dealer.

Best of luck
