Good afternoon discoweb,

I promise I tried the search and can't find an answer. Happy to take a beating but would love some insight because it's getting hard to find out there.

I have the RTE 4" lift in my 2000 d2. Hd axles, waiting on hd cvs. Rear arb locker. Regeared to 4.12's. Extended bump stops from lucky8. Just ordered 16" steelies as well.

I want to run a 34x10.5r16 but the only option is an interco and they have been sold out forever. Thinking of trying to run a 315/75r16. How much cutting am I looking at on the body? I realize I'll probably torch some axle half shafts and it won't be as great as 33's but I've always wanted to run a big tire.

Any advice and or flaming but also with advice would be greatly appreciated.

255/85R16 is a very similar size to 34x10.5 and will give you a few more tire choices. Don't be a wheel spinning dweb dumb ass and your axles will be fine.

Thank you, I saw several in that size but they all seem to shake out to 32.8-33.1 ish in size. I really wish companies made a 34x10 on a 16 (besides the one interco bias ply).


255/85R16 is a very similar size to 34x10.5 and will give you a few more tire choices. Don't be a wheel spinning dweb dumb ass and your axles will be fine.

The 255/85 that I've looked at are 33.1 - 33.2, and the 34x10.5 are 33.5 - 33.6, so not much different depending on choice. 315/75 is definitely a set up in size in all dimensions though. Is the floatation and clearance worth it?
