I think it's funny how people are complaining that 315/75R16 aren't "really" 35" when even 35" tires don't usually measure 35" Look at the specs of a 35-12.50R15 BFG MK2.

No one is complaining, just stating that most people dont realize that their 35's arent really 35's at all.. The Q78's that Buddy has are a true 35" tire.

I started a thread a while back on a FB page asking people to measure their tires for me.

The guys running 285/75-16's, supposedly a 33" tire; where measuring out to 31.5". Meanwhile my 265/75-16 retreads run 31" with about half tread left.

These measurements were with the tires mounted on the truck.

I, and most here, are aware that 315/75 are not a true 35" tire, but people still call them that as do most tire manufacturers. Sorry for the misleading thread title.

This is why buying tires is such a pain in the balls. You can look at their posted tire specs but even those are usually wrong. It chaps my ass that making a $1000-1500 tire investment basically comes down to a wish and a hope that the tire company is being genuine with their specs.

I dont understand why keep posting on Dweb. You obviously cant take any criticism which is standard on this site. I think you would be better suited on one of the Facebook LR pages.

You put a set of used tires on your truck just to say you have 35's.. you would fit in perfectly over there.

Those UK girl scouts on those pages can't spell the language they invented, never mind use grammar. The "USA" one has some whinny girls in it too. I asked for someone to post a picture of a "melted" winch gear and then it changed to well maybe it was just stripped.

I expect things to be melted if they are to be melted! The cheese on my grilled cheese better not be almost melted in the middle or simply "stripped" gears. Fuck.

PS: And this parking rules applied thing has to stop. Maybe to the point of giving the German's a do over.

What is this parking rules thing? I saw someone mention it the other day but had no idea what they were talking about.

Apparently if you see another Land Rover in a parking lot/garage, you must do everything you can to park next to it. I guess you then take a picture and post it on that FB page. Lots of douchery to say the least - so the news feed is usually littered with crap like that. Well that and posts about the last Defender. Yet they make fun of Jeep owners. Interesting.

I have not removed myself yet, but I also don't pay attention to most of the stuff that get's posted there. It would be a lot better if they didn't ban everyone that actually had a clue.

That's just stupid. Just like waving at other rover owners when you pass them on the highway. I will admit to doing it when I'm at a rover event and pass another rover on the road to the camp ground/event site. But if I'm just cruising down I-40 I can't really be bothered. Not to mention chasing after people to take a picture of their truck.

I just removed myself. I'd rarely make a comment that knowingly would annoy people, but still reveal some facts. Now I watch for that potential on the "USA" site, which is proving to be full of "if my Harbor Freight winch works just once, it's done its job" kind of awesomeness. I'm hoping to see more "flexed out" D2s and maybe...just maybe more cheap LED light bars mounted in the dumbest places I can imagine. The possibilities are really endless.
