Peter, here's a picture of it before I reinstalled a set of elongated factory flares.

I think you'd be wise to stick with the 255's with the upgraded Rover stuff. Any larger and you're asking for breakage. Ask me how I know. ;)

I'm currently back to stock drivetrain (3:54 gears, no lockers, stock shafts, etc.) while I'm working on my axle conversion. That way I'll comfortably be able to run 35's or so without worrying.

Greg, thanks for the pic, it looks awesome. So what kind of problems you had when you got does 35 rolling?. The only reason that I want it 35 on my disco is for more ground clearance (looks great to), here in Panama there?s not to much rock crawling but there?s a lot of mud. I travel a lot around Panama and Costa Rica with my disco most of the time because I go on surf trips and the surf spots were I usually go are really hard to get too.

So what are the mods that have to be done to run 35 with no problem?

Yep, and that was after I had downsized to my 315's, which are about 1" shorter and about 15-20 lbs lighter per tire. Stick to the 255's unless you are willing to do some major component swapping.

Greg,

Can't you do some sort of a Toy conversion like we can on the D1/RRC axles?

I'm actually doing high pinion D60's front and rear. Most of the parts should be here the end of this week. My wife is expecting mid-Feb, so I know that I won't be running many trails until probably mid summer, so this will give me some time to get everything built.

Here's what I'll be running:

I could tell it would be something along those lines. Very cool.

Maybe someday...

Now that I have my 255/85 on my disco I?m going to replace my rotors, any suggestions? I was thinking on DBA Drilled/Slotted Brake Rotors but I don?t hear too many good comments, I was also thinking on EBC brake rebuild kits from Atlantic British.

Suggestions are welcome.

Thanks,
Peter
