34x10.5x16 on 3" RTE?

I have an 04 Disco and would like to know if 34x10.5x16 Swamper tires (33.6 actual OD) on stock wheels would fit with an RTE 3" lift? Thanks in advance.

(Edit: These comments are conjecture based on doing the same thing w/ a 4" lift)

With the 1050 width you'll have fewer turn-rubbing issues than w/ the 34/1250's. But you'll still have contact issues on full articulation. If you have rock sliders, you'll want to cut about 2" from the front to avoid contact w/ the tire. You'll likely have to trim or remove your fender flairs. I would suggest testing your travel in a controlled situation to see if you need to chop a bit of the fender body panels themselves. A buddy of mine didn't cut enough metal away and ended up slicing into his tire at full articulation. Also, you may have a contact problem on the front tires against the bumper, depending on what bumper you have. If you have an SG/RTE you should be fine. ARB you may have conact. Stock -- hello sawzall. Ditto rear bumper.

fwiw, I run a 33.3" (255/85) diameter BFG MT on the 16x7 steelies (1.5" less backspacing than stock) and the only cutting I had to do was the front of the sliders, no rubbing anywhere else, full stuff and/or full lock.

'99 D2, RTE 3", Greg Davis rear bumper, RTE Front bumper, RTE Sliders, Stock radius arms front/rear

Yea I'd say 34's on DII with a 3inch RTE is going to be problematic. I'd stick with a 3" RTE and go with 255/85's The O.D. of those will be like 33.3 or something and looks really good, nice and skinny.

285/75's are a perfect fit...you'll aslo need to think about upgrading axle shafts...fronts are a problem 'cause there aren't any hd cv's being made yet. throw in show hd rear shafts. these things don't like turning big shoes, stock...

SKINNY! OHH BABY GOTTA HAVE GIRTH!! :D

Anything you do thats not stock may be a liitle out of the oridinary to most people, But HEll go for it, Its all about hving what you want, If you have to trim alittle no biggie, the tires will Definitlely fit on those rims, im running 34 12.5 interco trxus MTS on my and the stuff great no rubbing up front, and no rubbing in the rear except on the inside of the fender well, I trimmed all the lips off my fenders, and wiht a Greg davis bumper in the rear your already up high enough, You may need to add a 1 inch spacer or something, but it will look bad ass... heres a pic of mine, its OME md duties with 2 inch spacers..

Sound like I will give it a try. If I have to trim the fenders some so be it. I figure since 34" Super Swamper LTBs are only 3 tenths of an inch larger in diameter and 1/2 an inch wider case width than the 255/85/16 BFGs they should not take much more to get them to work. Sounds like my axles might suffer? Guess I should by some spare shafts. Thanks agian everyone.

yes MUCH tougher on axles. So far for me
1 CV
3 Rear diffs
shopping for a locker and upgraded axle shafts for the rear now. Diffs are cheap but I am tired of swapping them.

Maybe I need to buy axle shafts and CV's in bulk..LOL. I allready have 4.11 gears and ARB lockers F/R. I would swap the axles out for a set of 60's or MOG portals, but I allready have a bunch of money in the stock diffs for the gears and lockers. Maybe someone will come out with some extra heavy stuff eventually for the current front axles. I figured these axles would be as tough as Toyota axles, but I guess not.

not even close to toy axles...depending how heavy on the skinny pedal you are, you'll find out how weak the rover axles are. With that set-up, why didn't u at least put hd axles in the rear?

The lockers and gears I had installed at the stealership when I purchased it so that they would be under warrenty. Hind sight is 20/20.
