97 4.0, D1, i have an engine problem, more of a valve train / engine noise combined with low oil presure,i just installed, new std cam bearings, and a stock cam. the cam i installed fit, but had green and purple paint markings. i see in the rover manual that the color for the camshaft should be "orange", for my application. do i have the wrong cam in this thing? or the paint thing is bs. ?

alright i confirmed the old cam was marked orange, and it looks like according to Atlantic British, green indicates D2 4.0, looking for cam specs now to check the difference in journal size between the two. oh well just another cam job i guess.
thanks for the reply, i installed the cam bearings. after my machine shop checked the block for alignment. and this thing was quiet and smooth for 1500 miles, then like a thief in the night, it started to go,tack, tack , tack, tack,,,, Oil pressure is 18lbs Hot, 35lbs cold, no noise untill the engine reaches temp. rebuild involved, rings and all brngs, valve job, oil pump, the works, all brgs that went back in were std, no need for 10 or 20 over, they all specd out,
My next step is to re plasti gage ( did it on initial assemble ) and check Cam brng to see if one spun on me...
